Nayeli Dulcinea Escamilla is a Mexican American actress, singer, writer, and voice-over talent. Raised in a suburb on the East side of Houston, she began acting professionally at the age of 15, when she booked her first lead in the short film, “Desde el Norte”. Since then, she has appeared in numerous local and regional commercials, corporate videos, and independent films. Her theatre work includes performances in cities like Austin, Mexico City, and Paris.
She worked as a radio and television personality for Univision Communications from 2007-2012 where she also wrote and produced the broadcast spots. In 2012 she won a Lonestar Emmy in the category of Musical Composition for the morning show song, “Vive la Manana”, which she wrote, composed, and sang. Life led her to earn her journalism degree from The University of Houston, but her true passion is the arts. Most recently, she played attorney Letty Sones, opposite actress/singer Mya Harrison, in the television series “5th Ward”, and narrated the book “Warrior Girl”, by internationally acclaimed author, Carmen Tafolla. In her spare time, Nayeli enjoys spending time in nature, singing and collaborating with local musicians, and salsa dancing.
