Abel S. Badillo

Abel S. Badillo was born in Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas Mexico, on September 7, 1966. He emigrated to the United States in 1988. He studied computer science at San Jacinto College, in Pasadena, Texas.
Abel is a poet and short story writer and has published a book. Additionally, his works have been published in different anthologies of both poetry and short stories.
Abel has participated at literary festivals, and he has given workshops on literature and short story writing. All being in a voluntary and social work sense.

He has collaborated in the organization of events such as “El llano en llamas”, a multinational literary encounter to commemorate the birth of Juan Rulfo, and “Trova verso y prosa”, a gathering of troubadours, poets and writers. This in conjunction with Teatro Comunitario de Houston and Escondrijo, a multicultural space in Houston, Texas.
Abel has functioned as member of the board of directors of several non-profit organizations in different capacities, as secretary, treasurer and as part of the decision-making process.
Abel holds considerable experience in setting up corporations, with a solid background in Accounting and Business Administration.
